Regional Buyer


Major Responsibility: To oversee and monitor area of responsibility KPIs to achieve the competitiveness of B Division by increasing profitability through global price and cost reduction projects within their area of responsibility and region. Implement global strategic orientation within sub domain assigned area through the execution of the global purchasing strategies adapted to product and life cycle. Improve quality of delivery by consistently implementing supplier management. May travel up to 25%.

  • Essential Tasks:
  • Support establishment of global objectives by providing regional planning information. Report regional OPI s and KPI s to support the measure of performance through the MPC (material price change/MPV)
  • Oversee the business results for assigned purchasing area in its region, and take actions and monitor their implementation when there are deviations.
  • Manage the cost optimization of the product area(s) assigned in its region.
  • Fix with Global sub domain purchasing manager commercial and contractual agreements for regional suppliers operating globally, regionally and locally ensuring the competitiveness of the B Division. Support make-and-buy decisions.
  • Lead the core purchasing processes, from supplier selection (included solicitation of quotations and evaluation under aspects of total cost of ownership) to awarding of the contract through to changing suppliers where appropriate in the region.
  • Support strategic capacity management (such as development, production, investment, etc.) of the regional suppliers assigned on the global, regional and local levels
  • Manage supplier performance in order to meet ZF requirements (finance grading, supplier questionnaire, non-disclosure agreement, business principles, QR83, LR10 ) and implement the global supplier strategy
  • Implement and comply with the supplier management processes for minimizing risks and continually improving supplier performance in consultation with the supervisor.
  • Maintain Master Data information of regional suppliers
  • Implement sub domain strategy in its region. Take the role as global lead buyer located in its region, being the sole face to the supplier.
  • Responsible for worldwide supplier performance.
  • Define, drive and approve change requests and implement changes at regional suppliers
  • Support supplier regress claim handling and validation
  • Identify and evaluate market trends that are necessary for the purchasing strategy and target achievement and for taking appropriate actions in the region.
  • Research regional procurement market knowledge that transcends own area of expertise (currency, customs, freight, politics, raw materials...) as well as detailed expertise in regards to early identification of development and market trends.
  • Initiate and coordinate technical modifications to the products in own area of responsibility.
  • Make recommendations for further development of manufacturing processes/manufacturing technologies, commodities/raw materials and their market price developments, or the general supply situation.
  • Support the Global sub-domain purchasing manager in his understanding of the regional specificities and opportunities, for the Global Sub-domain to define its product line strategy worldwide.

Educational Requirements: BA/BS required, Purchasing or Economics preferred

Experience Requirements: 2 + years experience in multicultural negotiation environment (purchasing / sales). Technical understanding and market knowledge of braking automotive spare parts. Highly energetic, fast learner, team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills. Strong project management and leadership skills to drive sustained improvement in internal and external suppliers. Highly developed analytical and interpersonal skills. Must possess a high level of independent judgment, professionalism, integrity and honesty. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, advanced excel. SAP experience preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
